Quid pro quo: Hunt-Dickson-Wollaston

Many of you were right to worry about me committing ‘professional suicide’ with my blog posts about GMC/MPTS. Not to be, I seem to have been given ‘new lease of life’ by Ms Hannah Eldridge, GMC’s in-house solicitor. Recently she declared that the only allegation GMC/MPTS would be looking at is ‘impaired fitness to practice’ due to ‘ill health’.

Ms Eldridge seems to have quashed all previous allegations of misconduct and poor performance. These allegations were made by ex-employer about two years ago. They seem to have caused more work for GMC/MPTS. The question is why did the case examiners hold on to the allegations for two years and now drop them without a trial.

There is a perception among doctors and public that GMC is above the law and is the most powerful organisation. Junior doctors were threatened with sanctions if they participated in industrial action and compromise patient safety. Nobody dared to challenge Dickson and co. Some thought that Hunt was behind Dickson’s threat to junior doctors.

One doesn’t become powerful by just doing what he is supposed to do. There has to be support from higher ranks. There has to be quid pro quo. How does Dickson-Wollaston-Hunt exchange favors?

Wollaston disregarded my written evidence to parliamentary health select committee about Dickson and Co subjecting disabled doctor to harassment and victimisation. By doing so, Wollaston protected Dickson and Co from intense scrutiny by the media and the public. Definitely Dickson and Co owes a favour to Wollaston. Hunt asks for a favour from Dickson on behalf of Wollaston and gets Dickson to threaten junior doctors.

The quid pro quo continues and the ‘show’ goes on… at the cost of doctors money, lives and careers. Why should anybody care for the doctors?

  1. What’s happened to you is very bad, But you’d be surprised how often it goes the other way too, how the GMC refuses to investigate doctors who breach all ethical codes, the NHS Constitution, human rights, fail in their duty of care, breach DPA (PIDA) 1998 and still, the GMC does not investigate. Even when there is evidence of a doctor being entirely unbalanced.

  3. Hi. I made a complaint to the GMC about a doctor prescribing a IV Therapy drug off label no informed consent obtained even though he was alert and pain free before and at the start of treatment. My husband suffered a massive
bleed to the brain less than 2 hours later. Research shows that there were no clinical studies to spport the use of the off label drug. The drug prescribed off label to my husband was Bivalirudin. The doctor prescribe it in combination Prasugrel. Worldwide internet sites will confirm the risks pf the two drugs given in combination is unknown. My husband suffered a hideous death unnecessary and avoidable death but the GMC are not interested.
